FINGER LAKES TRAVEL: Have you ever had sushi off a conveyor belt?

FINGER LAKES TRAVEL: Have you ever had sushi off a conveyor belt?

I don’t usually pay much attention to TikTok trends. But one that caught my eye was conveyor belt sushi restaurants. The idea of just grabbing what you wanted as it comes down the line instead of actually ordering your food just seemed so weird but interesting at the same time. So I did what any normal person would do in 2022 and I googled conveyor belt sushi near me. To my surprise something actually popped up. And that is how we ended up at Sakana-Ya Sushi Bar in Syracuse.

I wasn’t really sure what to expect from this restaurant and at first I was a little concerned that it would be the equivalent to a fast food place. But that was not the case the sushi bar was very nice and worth the trip. Walking in you’re greeted by a member of their staff, once they take your drink order you’re pretty much on your own. You can sit right at the bar at the conveyor belt or you can sit at a booth. Once you’ve taken your sit you just sit back and watch the sushi come down the line until you see something you’d like. You do also have the option to order something from the menu but we stuck to the conveyor belt on this trip.

Overall Sakana-Ya Sushi Bar was a really cool place. I’d say it’s the perfect restaurant for an introvert because there is little to no talking that you have to do. Or for people who don’t necessarily enjoy waiting for their food. Their is always something coming down to conveyor belt so their isn’t really anything you have to wait for. If you’re a sushi lover and are looking to try something new this should be on your Finger Lakes bucket list.
